How Do I know It’s Possible?

I know it’s possible because I’ve done it myself and helped many others on their way.

I feel younger and have more energy today, at 51, than most women I know in their 40s.  And I truly look forward to the infinite possibilities of the second half of life.  But I admit, I have an advantage.  That’s because ten years ago, when I was a new wife and brand-new mother, I was given the opportunity to look at life in a different way.

I walked into the doctor’s office (at 42), to have a routine physical; no symptoms, no problems, no anything, just routine. The next day, I was called back in the office and told I had cancer.

The thing is, I was healthy!  I always ate ‘right’, exercised, and would have at any point in time said that I was in excellent health.  Something didn’t add up.  That’s when I started really looking at what I was eating. That’s when I started looking at foods that heal and foods that harm.  I started looking at new ways to cook (and un-cook), and how to eat to be the healthiest I could possibly be. I experimented in the kitchen, read all kinds of books, and started changing my diet.  And I’ve felt the difference.  Now I can’t imagine going back to my previous way of eating.

And, I’m not talking about giving up all your favorite foods, or sacrificing flavor for health.  I love food!

And that’s what I want to share with you.  Because I know that if you could just feel what it’s like to feel confident of your food choices, to get rid of the guilt, to drop the worry, (and drop the pounds) and learn how to make eating enjoyable again, easy, and feel great at the same time, you would do it too.
